To each his own and I cant blame you for wanting that new 50 size gasser, it looks real nice. BUT (always a but) you are just about to sell the best flying heli that you are likely to own. (short of a boutique heli). You should think twice. Flying nitro or electric you are gonna have to drive so whats the difference?
Logos are getting popular very fast for a reason
They are the best bang for the buck, need little maintenance and fly just great.
Dont do it man, you'll regret it.

Hope your not expecting power even close to your Logo from a gasser. I think you would be better off with one of the new 50's like a Vibe, Outrage, Knight with the new OS 55 engine.

your ad says 4S, might want to mod that. None the less good luck but I think you'll be regretting your sale down the road, most all do.

i already know ill regret it this thing flys amazing but i like to fly for longer times and if i have to drive 30 mins to fly and even with 6 packs (6 4s packs) thats 300$ and i only get 18 minutes flight time .. thats 1 tank on a nitro i was thinking myself maybe an outrage velocity as well when i goto the field i need the refuel and fly option because i like to fly for like an hour strait the reason i got the logo is i had a park right across the street that allowed electric models but apparently the law changed so now i have to drive again so i guess i will be going back to nitro

I don't know where you were getting 18 minutes on a nitro but my nitro I just sold was getting 7 minutes (600n). I drive a half hour and sometimes even an hour or more to fly. Find yourself some good flying buddies and the time you have to drive won't much matter anymore!

Keep in mind the fuel tank on a 600n is not much bigger than a Raptor. Align blatantly lied in the specs. It measures out at less than 400cc. On a Vibe 50 running a Carbsmart/Multigov Pro I could get 10 minutes and land with 1/4 of a tank remaining.

I'm confused. Are you only getting 3 minutes out of a pack. If so, what size pack, what motor, and what pinion. I think that your setup maybe off and that's why you get such short fly times. As for nitros I never got more than 6:30 out of a tank on my 600n or my 700, you guys must run some slow headspeeds.

Read my post. The tank on a 600n is less than 400cc. That is small for a 50. I run my Vibe at 2050 which is equivalent to 2100+ on a 600n due to the higher gear ratio. Not slow by any means.

I had been debating a 700 sized nitro or a logo 600 for a long time. After looking at the cost of a season worth of nitro vs 4 10s turnigy packs the electric seems much cheaper even though the initial investment will be higher. It also seems the run time difference is a wash, I guess if you're running a gasser with low HS you could get a long run, but I've heard of plenty of guys getting super long flights out of logo's with lower headspeed.

I dont believe that I was even referring to anything that you said so take it easy. I was referring to this.

Which he explained how. As for 8-10 minutes of fly time on the logo 500 thats pretty darn good.

Damn life is hard....gotta to wait for those batteries to charge while all the starving kids in Ethiopia are flying....

Where is the deal in selling a great heli at a loss to buy an overweight pig made by Moronury?

If you want to do this stuff affordably, you put your money on the things that you 'need' to fly...batteries, chargers, fuel...then with whatever is left over, you get the things you 'want' to buy, like helicopters.

not convinced?....power supply 100.00, last ten years...helicopter 1000.00, could last ten minutes, ten days...

battery 200.00, 100 cycles....2.00/flight
glow about the same
gas...OMG its so much cheaper per flight...wait till you crash a 10 lb 50 with that heavy motor.

Everyone always bases their decisions around 'which helicopter'? and forgets the real costs of powering and maintaining a helicopter for as much flying and crashing as they can afford to risk, which if these costs are less than what you spent for your heli, then you are better off just sticking with what you got, which btw is one of the best 30 size helis ever made

Not trying to convince you to stay electric, but some things to think about when you go to your flying field...

- How many people are usually flying at the field when you'll be there?
- How many flight areas are at the field?

If you're going on the weekends and you have one heli flight area (like my main field) then you'll probably have to wait in line for some time. So, it won't be a gas-and-go-all-day situation.

AND, if there's a line regardless of how many flight areas, and you're flying 20 to 30 minute flights on that gasser and others are waiting, then chances are that the other pilots aren't gonna be very happy with you.

If you'll be by yourself, then gas and go all day. (BTW, I wouldn't fly any large heli with spinning carbon fiber machetes all by myself if I could help it -- you never know what might go wrong. A ball link pops off, a screw backs out, a bolt fails, etc... and that 10 lb. heli hits you with no one around... well that's a different post.)

Anyway, I'm not saying to sell or keep the electric heli (I'm actually thinking about getting a gasser myself, but I ain't selling any of my 3 Logos!) I just wanted to point out a few things to also consider.

PS: I know you said your mind was made up about electrics, but if it were me, I'd get a few more packs, another charger, and charge them off your car battery while you have to wait anyway (and while you're flying your other packs). Worried about your car battery dying? Get a cheap solar panel that keeps your car battery topped off. Or get a used Honda generator off Craigslist. Or since you're going to a field that will probably have other people there, bring jumper cables... That's what I do!

Oooh. The thought of trading a Mikado for a gasser just seems like trading a Ferrari for an F-150 pickup. Don't get me wrong, I understand that each type has its place. I'll probably pick up a gasser too for cruising around. Maybe even a Century Radikal, but more likely, a Miniature Aircraft Spectra-G.
