My Posts This: Topic Forum | Not trying to convince you to stay electric, but some things to think about when you go to your flying field...
- How many people are usually flying at the field when you'll be there? - How many flight areas are at the field?
If you're going on the weekends and you have one heli flight area (like my main field) then you'll probably have to wait in line for some time. So, it won't be a gas-and-go-all-day situation.
AND, if there's a line regardless of how many flight areas, and you're flying 20 to 30 minute flights on that gasser and others are waiting, then chances are that the other pilots aren't gonna be very happy with you.
If you'll be by yourself, then gas and go all day. (BTW, I wouldn't fly any large heli with spinning carbon fiber machetes all by myself if I could help it -- you never know what might go wrong. A ball link pops off, a screw backs out, a bolt fails, etc... and that 10 lb. heli hits you with no one around... well that's a different post.)
Anyway, I'm not saying to sell or keep the electric heli (I'm actually thinking about getting a gasser myself, but I ain't selling any of my 3 Logos!) I just wanted to point out a few things to also consider. |
