most of the time you cant get them back off and they strip very easy. dont locktite those screws

or your gonna have to dremel them off

I saw ink tackle a 600 with a Dremel to get a frame screw out. I didn't use a single stock frame screw on my 700 because of that. Best $20 to spend on your 700.

Hey Mike,

Do yourself a favor and get some of the screws, you will thank yourself later. Also, I did the headblock upgrade, engine bearing block upgrade, and heavy duty clutch upgrade because I heard people say they have had problems in those areas also.

FWIW, I am using the stock screws on my 700 and 700LE and have yet to have a problem removing them (knock on wood) I did buy some of the Helidirect screws just in case though

I had no problems with the stock M3X8mm screws that go all over the frames...however the ones that i did have problems with were the M2.5(or was it M2.6) screws that are used on all the servo mounts.

I replaced them with phillips head self-tapping screws(those that come with the servo) and the phillips head was much more robust IMO

Michael,

Use the stock screws for giving the frame posts and bearing blocks a 'workout'. Its the last 1mm or so when you start to feel the screws really grab onto the internal threads.

Build up the heli as you would WITHOUT using any loctite and turn the screws all the way in. Then when the aftermarket screw hardware arrives, swap them out.

Like i mentioned, keep an eye on the servo mount screws...dont let them get near your heli

Any tips on breaking in my brand spanking new YS 91 SR with hatori sb19? Leave at factory setting and go from there? Hows the power in these YS engines?Can I run 13 pitch curves for pops? (wink)

Im running a YS91sr3c on mine and although I didn't really tried to load it up, i could feel that there was a good amount of power even at break-in settings.

This is my first YS engine and it is incredible. It settles into a nice low hum during idling and when I put the heli thru a vertical climbout, the engine sounded EVEN SMOOTHER

The YS doesnt need as much break in as the OS. I would idle through one tank, then take is up and hover it around really rich for a couple more tanks, then start leaning it out. The YS motor likes to be rich, so dont lean it out too much. You are gonna love the YS hatori combo, good stuff man!
