No, but I'm curious about doing this in the future. I think it's only a matter of time until Mikado give us the go ahead to fly larger helis with the mini (or until they release a full size V-bar V2.0 with integrated satellite receivers).

In the meantime, there is always the CY Total-G coming out soon. It even has a governor built in.

If I remember correctly the mini-V can take 20A and 9 volts, so I think you'll be fine with the 8717's at 8V.

From talking with Mikado the whole power issue is just a straight myth. The reason (other than smart business sense which I'm sure is 90% of it) they recommend it for smaller ships is because the different type of vibs associated with larger helis.

I want to see it in a 90! Go for it!

The problem is to get power INTO the mini vbar.

+ with a nitro you need to run a RX anyway, since you got zero ports out except throttle.

So what's the point? if it fails you get no help from Mikado.
I suggest waiting and see what they come up or get a full sized.

Governor gain for sample.

Yes you can run 2 leads into it, RX-B, RX-C, or use Y cables on the servos.

I've tested around, sure, just to be able to help people & understand problems, but I fly regular VBar on all my bigger machines now, my logo 400 is the biggest I run Mini on.

It's MUCH easier to get a vibration free environment on the bigger VBar without tons of cables going into the sensor part.

All units that has tons of cables into it, will be more prone to vibrations, Im not saying it's impossible to get over, I'm just saying its way more easier on a separate sensor setup.

(internally everyone using the same sensor anyway)

I'm hoping Mikado releases a V2 full sized V-bar with a separate sensor yet integrated satellite receivers. That's what I'm waiting for. They need to keep up with the Total-G and the Skookum 720 which both offer "all-in-one" convenience.

From what Im seeing, Mikado is leading the way. So what if they dont give us every variable. Im sure there would be complaints had they not come out with the mini

(nothing personal J-Rock, but)
Few things annoy me more than comparisons between existing products - MiniV - and others performance "promises".

All-in-one is "tidy", but it's not always the easiest to shelter from vibrations...period.

I think the true desire has more to do with the elimination of the Rx in favor of a satellite vs. the elimination a separate sensor for larger birds.

I believe 2010 will be a year that truly defines the flybarless revolution!

I'm looking forward to the facts in spite of the assumptions.
