My field is grass so I don't use them outside especially on nitro birds because once they get oil on them, all they do is slide up and down the skid. On smaller electrics like the 250, 450, 500 I use them so that I can take off of a gym floor.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

slide up and down the skid

Just use a plastic tie-wrap around the skid to hold the stops in place.

I never use the skid stops, I don't like tip overs. I put some JB Weld on the bottom of the skids on the plastic, It is great for sliding autos and when it wears down just add some more. The skids never wear out.

Good and bad

Good - on some heli's it seems to help a tiny bit with ground resonance / dance.

Bad - very easy to trip a skid

Interesting. I've used them for years and I've never had a tip over.

I'm told in south Florida they drill a hole in the bottom of the plastic strut where it circles the skid tube. Then screw in a button head 3mm screw. The button head is round and does not hang up on concrete but does take the wear off the plastic skids. The steel or stainless steel button heads still wear but at a slower rate. With these on you can slide way down the runway if it is smooth.

Have fun.

This hobby is WAY too expensive!!
