I had one hel! of a time getting the spindel through the dampers. I wonder if it is to tight for the grips to center? but anyway, The book shows two ways for the thrust bearings. What way should it be done? the build has been flaw less so far. I going to try it first with out dailing in or balancing anything yet. Thanks

Okay. Simple answer for you.

Your Radial Bearings (2) should be fixed in the grips, if they are, then you have to build the Thrust Bearings on top of the Radials. If you have only one Radial Bearing installed from the Factory, then use the Build Illustration that shows that system.

I hope that Made sense.

Also, The Dampners. You are so right about them. I had the same problem with getting my spindle through them. But I finally did it with some Tri flow and a little bit of heat.

Also. Make sure that the dampners are seated flush with the outside of the Head block, or your thrust bearings will not be free.

Hope this helps.
