Radio - Futaba FASST > FG12 Mode change from 1 -2 can it be done???

Just wondering if it is at all possible to change the mode on the FG12 transmitter?
Currently the transmitter is in mode 1 but I really need mode 2. I am setting up a helicopter for a customer who flies in Mode 1 and I fly in mode 2. He has sent me his radio so I can set everything up for him and make sure the machine is flying well. Unfortunately I only have a JR radio so can not transfer data from one to the other.

If changing modes is not that easy I will have to purchase a new radio - it will give me a good excuse to get a new radio

I think it's prety easy to change from Mode 1 to Mode 2 with the 12FGH, however, it's a high-level change in the software, and might reset the model memory. I will look in my manual and get back on that...

OK, from the manual, the STICK MODE is an easy change in the software. It doesn't affect your stored models. I don't know what's involved with move the throttle friction adjuster and springs, however.

from my memory (or lack of!) I am pretty sure both joystick pots can be set to use a ratchet or smooth. Just take the back off the radio and you will see the metal friction strips and just move that to the other side. Hope this helps.

I've seen that screen on my 12Z but i did not know that it would change modes. Thats a pretty good feature if you need it.

No problem with the chage over. Mine was mode 2 and I changed it to mode 1. Not sure about losing model settings but I don't think you will. If in doubt just save them to a memory card as a back up. If they are lost then you can re-install them. The mode change will not affect the settings on the card.

Yes, you can change mode easily with 12FG.
You will not lose your model memory, but you have to re-map the throttle & elevator through function menu. This means if your Tx is mode 1 now, after you changed to mode 2, your existing models setup saved in memory are still in mode 1. Only new models created is mode 2.
