I had a problem excatly like this using the Skookum... I found that one of my wires had rubbed on the carbon fiber frame and was shorting out. Replaced the wire and no problems since. I actually crashed because of this.

I find the harder I "throw down" at the field... the more peices i have to pick up.

I just thoroughly went through all of the wires and put that wire braiding on so I double that's the issue.

I would try someones ESC if that did not work I would try another motor if thats not it I would change the Main Shaft Bearing and if that does not work mount your Mini V like I have mine

If it still does it I would sent the Mini V in for Mikado to check

Do you have a RX laying around?

hook it up using the patch cable, lead the throttle via the RX instead (not using sat's)

If it still does the same, you know its not the mini.
If it doesnt do it, then you know its the mini inflicting something on the throttle channel.

Pull the red wire out of your ESC Rx plug.

Connect a 4 cell pack or a regulator with pack and try again. If its truly a bearing issue it will still glitch like that. If its a bec problem with wont.

Thanks for the input guys, I really appreciate it.

You all are mentioning issues with the power system and that may be the case but what is really hard to see from that low quality video is that the swash is twitching very erratically to full deflection which leads me to believe that it is more than just the throttle channel that is off.

I will report back when I have more info.

I think that you may have a short, or some type of damage to the receiver. It looks like one of your aleiron servos is glitching. That video looks identical to what mine was doing.

Man this is frustrating!!!

So before I change anything and try the few suggestions that you guys have given me I try to reproduce the problem with the old setup and I can't get it to do it!?!

I'm real close to just hanging up the flb stuff and going back to stock. My 500 has been pain-free the last 1.5 years that I've owned it but now with this mini-v I can't even fly it!

Findings:

1) Removed red wire from ESC and plugged in an RX pack to RX-C. Was able to recreate issue. This eliminates the idea that the ESC is the issue.

2) Hooked an AR7000 to Mini via only the collective patch cable and plugged the ESC directly into the throttle channel of the AR700. I was also able to recreate the problem. This eliminates any issue associated with the throttle of the Mini.

3) After completing these two tests I put it back to the original setup and wasn't able to recreate it. I also moved all of the wires/connectors looking to see if I could induce the problem in doing such to no avail. To me this signifies that it isn't a short in any of the leads.

I'm going to try a new motor this weekend but what else would y'all recommend?

I've done that. I don' think that its a power issue as the rx lights aren't blinking,

Progress:

Well I have been unsuccessful in my last several attempts to recreate the problem with the original setup.

Question:

Could a bad satellite rx even if it is in the secondary "RX-2" position cause an issue like this? I'm running 2 and I know that the other one is fine.

Reason:

In my most recent unsuccessful attempt to re-create the problem I noticed that my RX-2 satellite did not have the LED lit (this is the first flight that this has occured). Some investigation found that the satellite is dead.

Could it be that this satellite has just been on its way out and my problem occured when it was working intermittingly but more recently it has been completely inoperative and that is why I'm having such an issue?

Yes it can,
Just like a faulty Sat receiver will play havoc if connected in a AR9000 (know that from experience)

Cool. I seriously doubt that this is the issue as I plugged a completely separate AR7000 via patch cables and was able to re-create the problem earlier.

But I will keep you updated!

I have had intermittent connectivity issues with my satellite connections, both at the receiver and the satellite. After disconnecting and reconnecting a few times I'm good for about a month, then the satellite starts to flicker again.

I think it's a dissimilar metal issue causing some corrosion in the connector.

Fasle Alarm

I double checked the faulty satellite by binding it with an AR7000 and it works just fine.

I re-bound it with the mini and it lit right up. However, just as a precaution I replaced it with a new one just in case.

I'm using two brand new satellites now.
