My Vibe does not have the "punch" when I put in the collective, either positive or negative. It is to slower than I would expect. It is set up per the manual, has Futaba digital servos and is on a GV 1 governor and head speed is 1850. Higher head speed, 2050, did not make that much difference. Would anyone suggest adjusting the linkage or through the radio (Spectrum) is the correct method of adjustment. I am just practicing 3D on the Realflight simulator and I like the quick collective on the program vs my real world setup.

Have you verified your pitch range with a pitch gauge? Also, is the engine broken in yet? Maybe it needs to be leaned out further.

adjust your throttle curve and disengage the governor, see what a
difference this makes.

Most 3D stick bangers are either not using a governor or using a
limiter to get the maximum punch.

Or use swasch to throttle mixing in your Radio. I am running at 18% and it works great. Regards Pete

Collective Punch

What are your settings? The book setting are right on you may have to make an adjustment of one turn or less on linkage. The ccpm setting of 70% is correct by the manual. Check your pitch range and engine setup. What radio are you using? 5 point or 7 point curve. Need more information.

I have a DX 7 Spectrum. My "Swash Mix" is set as follows: Aile -40% elev +40% and Pitch +40%. Does that make sense? I run a YS 50 and it is broken in. The governor does not seem to keep up with the sticks so I will disable, adjust curves and see if that helps.

Telling us your radio % means nothing. Take a pitch gauge and do some measurements.

OK, how does +12 and -12 sound. It is not the pitch but how the pitch tracks with the throttle. The pitch is behind the throttle. I need the pitch to come on faster and stay on the power curve, hence more punch. If it is to fast the engine would lose RPM which it does not. Is it a radio fix or linkage. Long and short is I have something wrong in the setup. Just looking for some ideas to try.

That's why you should either remove the GV-1, add some throttle mixing or replace it with a limiter

I would not recommend removing the gov. what it sounds like to me is you are fine with the helis power, but you want more instant pop out of the collective.

what servos are you using? futaba 9252s? or something slower? faster servos make a huge difference on instant POP.

what blades. a good stiff 3D blades will give you more instant pop

also try flying with 13 deg +- or even 14+- see how that feels.

personally I like the feel of 8717HV's on 8v with V blades on 13deg. that gives me max pop

40% seems way low. WAY low. It shouldn't be that far off from mine and everyone elses. Are you sure your pitch gauge is working? Are you leveling the flybar when you take your meaurements? I'm really suspect of your 12 degrees of pitch.

I've change the settings to 70% and static'ly it looks and operates better. I rechecked the pitch and it is at 13 +-. The test will be this weekend and I will post results. I am going to fine tune the setup without the governor and see if that helps also. Thanks for everyones input
