Hi all,
I'm flying my first N9 that I recently bought here on RR. I LOVE the helicopter. The only problem I have is a binding issue at either full positive or negative collective. The servo arms and distance out from the center of the servo to the ball is spot on per the instructions. I'm running the 14MZ radio and I have swash set at +55% both on elevator and aileron. Maybe its me, it seems to roll slowly with maximum stick deflection in either direction. If I increase the numbers up to get quicker roll rate it binds bad both at the head and the servo pivot support. I also spent a lot of time making sure the servo arms are at 90 degrees to the servo case when in idle up and throttle stick 50%. I don't know what more I can do. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for the help

Bob

There are some great tips in this doc, N9 Setup Tips.

To hover is divine, the alternative is rather PLANE.

What's your head speed and are you using a pitch gauge for cyclic and collective?

My head speed is 1750. I'm not a 3D guy just basic stuff like flips and rolls. I used a pitch gauge for the collective but not the cyclic. Pitch is +12 to -12.

Thanks
Bob

At that head speed the Synergy is going to seem slow and sluggish. Try something closer to 1850 for mild sport flying and 1950 for 3D.

I would incease head speed to 1900 to 1950. Also turn on your cyclic ring in your radio. I not a hard 3d pilot either but my Synergy's fly great.

Thanks for all the helpful info guys. I have the cyclic ring option already turned on. Last night I used pitch gauge to check my cyclic throws. Elevator 7 degrees up and down. Aileron 8 degrees left and right. I'm going to run my head speed up to 1850 and see what that does.

Thanks

It'll be a huge difference, even 500rpm makes a markable difference.

I agree. If you increase your HS by 500 rpm(!), you will have a monster.

...but, yeah: fifty more will help too.

LOL, ya, 500rpm sure would.

That's a dangerous typo right there.

Thanks, I did mean 50.

I would believe that 8 is most common. 7 or 8 should work fine. A lot of people dial there cyclic up until they bind then back them off a bit. That is the most you can have without running into issues.
