Can anyone walk me through a swashplate setup with the JR 8103? I have something messed up On throttle down it slams into the ground. I have broken 5 rotor blades and 3 tail fins on just throttling down. Today I was inching up just get off the ground and the bird shot straight up to about 10 feet with no input from me, I tried throttling down gently and it almost accellerates into the ground. Its obvious to me now I have something messed up in the setup. The tail DID stay put though its just that I dont seem to have much control over throttle.

I'm assuming your radio has 5 point curves?

Throttle curve in Normal should be:

0-25-50-75-100

Throttle curve in Stunt should reflect whatever headspeed you want. For example, I fly 90% flat. Or a V curve (100-95-90-95-100) This all depends on your motor Kv and pinion.

Pitch curve in Normal should be:

XX-YY-50-75-100

XX= whatever number gets you around -2 degrees pitch.
YY= should be a number that gives a straight line between XX and 50.
50 should be 0 deg pitch

Pitch curve in Stunt mode should be linear:

0-25-50-75-100

Sorry if you already know this.

Considering it shot up 10 ft, you could have a sticky collective.

Things to look at...
- Make sure the ball links are nice and smooth.
- Check that no bearings are binding.
- Make sure the spindle spacers (the ones between the dampners and the grips) are installed the correct direction. These spacers have a step on one side and that step needs to face the grips.

Also, if you haven't done so, remove the notchiness from your throttle stick. A smooth stick with a little friction makes it much easier to make small inputs.

I am checking all those guys. I am checking the swash too. I think something got messed up because I Checked the swash and its not level at mid stick.
I think somehow the servos got put down to where there was a negative
blade pitch forcing the ship DOWN into the ground on throttle down. At mid throttle the servos werent 90 degrees. So I moved them up and there and the swash is perfectly level now at mid throttle at the top and at the bottom
I took probably 5 degrees of negative blade pitch out at the bottom.
it shouldnt slam itself into the ground now. I hope tomorrow will bring some new flying. I hope it is. When I first built the thing it was rock solid till I crashed it. Now it looks good again. Its funny that I can fly my little beam E4 better than my big OLE protos.
