I've coverted my flybar paddles on my T-Rex 600 from the Align Carbonfiber paddles to the KBDD neon Yellow paddles to give the heli more color for visibility. The problem is that the KBDD paddles do not srew onto the flybar as far as the Align did so the overall lenght of the fly & paddles is longer! Now I know this has to have an effect on the flight charicteristics of the heli and I'm thinking that this change will only make the heli just ever so slightly more stable and probably slow down the cyclic functions ever so slightly. Am I correct in my thinking? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Likely to speed up the cyclic's, depends on the paddles of course.

Increasing the weight of the paddles slows it down.
Increasing the area of the paddles speeds it up
Increasing the rotor RPM speeds it up
Increasing the aspect ratio (span/chord) of the paddles speeds it up.
Increasing the length of the flybar speeds it up.

Colin Mill has a good link that covers it , scroll down to section 10

Thanks guys, that just the opposite effect that I thought it would have. Guess that's why I turn to the people who really know!! It'looks like it lenghtened the overall lenght by about 20mm, so that will definately make a difference. It didn't really need to be speeded up anymore, I'm running 8717's on a steady 6v, can't get much faster than that on the cyclic! Thanks for the help guys!!
