See below:
1. Someone tell the AMA the time changes tonight so it's not EDT.
2. errr

Do you fly when these are issued?

If you didn't have an AMA or the AMA did not have your email how would you even know about it. Out of all my years flying I think this is the first year I have ever heard of them.

I am just curious if these stop people from flying?

uh, no...when the FAA grounds model airplanes, they mean model airplanes. right now the FAA is wrestling with many different proposals that could affect model activity. We don't want to test the waters in the hopes that this or any other advisory isn't meant to include the general modeling public.

I am an AMA member, they have my email address, and I never get NOTAMs from AMA.

They can have my Tx when they pry it from my cold dead fingers.

It's like a metaphor.

right now the FAA is wrestling with many different proposals that could affect model activity.

I said the same thing about an auto demo that was taken up in to the clouds. I questioned what would happen "if" a jet sucked it in to its engines given that the model was way above AMA regulation altitude.

Not saying that scale pilots don't break the rules. I have seen planes flying over our field so low that there were near misses 2.

But back to the Notam. I have not personally gone out to fly when they were issued but I almost did. I had my gear in the car and I just happened to check my email minutes before leaving. Are Police patrolling flying fields to make sure we are grounded?

Damn Weather

Looks like my house is within the Philly ring, but the field I fly at is by the coast.

Having said that, the damn weather looks like a bust till about 1pm.

Some leisurely wrenching this morning and maybe we can all mosey over to the Wall RC field.

Everyone is invited!*
