Been a bit out of the loop for a while with other commitments but now looking to get things happening again...

I am looking at rigging a fixed wing plane up for some low res video footage and am wondering if there is a small camera - even one with a downlink that can be recorded on the ground - suitable for this application.

TIA

This will do it for you

http://fpvpilot.com/default.aspx

This shows a good list of vendors.

I personally would not use any video goggle that blocks out my vision.
No matter how good the video is you need to be able to see your plane without having to do a major light adjustment or re-orientation if you took the goggles off.
The "EYETOPS Centra" were good for this reason and I am waiting for this new pair to come out this fall.

Also check what downlink frequency is legal down under.

I just checked the video goggles website for the Wrap 920 and it is available...but there might be a 3 week backorder.

check out You Tube for FPV.
There's lots of people doing it...sometimes dangerously.
You be able to see how the videos look.

One note, there is an antenna tracking gizmo from ImmersionRC, but the things I've been reading is that it only works with their OSD.
