I just got my 8fgh and been looking through book and hitting buttons trying to figure out how to disable idle 3. I only want norm,idle1,idle2 and switch F for switching gyro from norm to hh. Right now, switch F engages idle 3. Any help?

Thanks

Mike

I don't have the 8FGH, but I believe the programing is similar to my 12FGH. To remove IdleUp3:

1. Enter the Model Menu
2. Select Condition
3. Scroll to IdleUp3
4. Press the RTN button
5. Select Remove (delete) & press RTN button
6. You'll probably have to push the RTN button again to confirm

Hope this helps!

Thanks, appreciate it.

When I went to condition, all the idle ups were listed but it would only let me scroll through the switch assignments. I couldnt highlight the idle up to delete it?

Thanks again

Mike

When you highlighted IdleUp3 in the Condition menu screen, did you hold the RTN button down for 1 second? If this doesn't work, change the switch selection for IdleUp3 to null (--).

Mike,

Glad to hear you got the switch set. I did some additional research on deleting flight conditions in the 8FGH, below is what I found.

On page 37 of the Futaba 8FGH manual there is a note in section 3 that states the following:

Note: Since you may accidentally activate a condition not previously setup during flight which could cause a crash, we suggest deleting conditions that are not used. *For a description of the condition deletion, refer to the Condition Select function, p.70.

On page 70 (Condition) there is a note (top left) that reads as follows:

Note: To prevent accidental activation of any unused flight conditions during flight, set the switch setting of those unused conditions to null (--).

Based on the above, you may not be able to delete the unused condition, just inactivate it by setting the switch to (--) null. The note on page 37 may be in error regarding condition deletion.

The only other thing that I can think of (since I don’t have a Futaba 8FGH to test) is to access page 3/3 of the Condition function (using the S1 button) and scroll to highlight IdleUp3 under Source. Then press the RTN button to see if a Delete option is offered.

Thanks a lot Mark for your time. I tried what you said but delete wasnt an option. But I think nulling the switch has taken idle3 out. I hit all the switches and cant get idle 3 to show up again. I will go to other conditions and make sure nothing else is there that I dont want. I learned a lot with radio today but still havent figured out how to disable the sliders.

Mike,

What are the two slide levers (LS & RS) affecting? By default, the LD & RD knobs are active and adjust hover pitch & hover throttle. They (LD & RD) can be deactivated (or reassigned) in the pitch & throttle curves. Usually the sliders have to be activated for use with a programmed mix. If you want, PM a number where you can be reached and I'll give you a call to help.

I don't have a 8 but push come to shove set up idle3 just like two just in case you flip the switch to the wrong position.
