in HTML there are options to the image tag to resize a large image to exact dimensions. this of course does not speed loading as the full resolution gets downloaded before rendering. but, such an option in the IMG tag here would allow off-site images to render well in the RR format.

is there a way to add a format code similar to IMG that would automagically scale larger images hosted elsewhere to max 700px while constraining the vertical proportion to fit the WV?

i looked and did not see any function like this here aside from loading the larger images to fastphoto first.

if it ain't broke…break it.

that would be a really nice feature to have here.

Noted but there are issues tying to implement the automatic part.

i had thought about that (presuming the issue is how to get the original image aspect ratio). the html attribute supports % as well as a defined px size. perhaps just an option to take a single percentage value from the user in the RR tag that would hold the aspect ratio?

it would be up to the user to pick a percentage that would be big enough without blowing out the borders.

Noted and thanks for the feedback. I have seen sites constrain images via a scrolling box.

just my opinion, but i don't care for those from a basic UI standpoint. i have to move the mouse over the image to get the scrollbars to work. just a personal grievance. i doubt it bothers everyone.

still that would be better than getting the borders of the page blown out twice their normal size when a 12mp image gets linked.

thanks.
