Well Im back to tinkering again.
Ever since I first got the QJ rigid spacers that replace dampers, there has been some play in the grips.
I expect some play, as nothing is perfect.
But I can pull on the grips and have a 1mm gap either side between the grip and the rigid spacers.
Due to this, I can also wiggle the grips up and down, and left to right.

I also have the rigid damper thrust spacers too.
All I can tell is that the spindle screw and washer must not be compressing the thrust bearings fully in the grip, like pre-loading a bit.

So Im thinking I need to shorten the spindle to take up this extra play.
It wasnt there with the original dampers, but thats normal IMO, as the dampers would compress and expand with movement of the grip.
This taking up any minor play.

With the rigid dampers, there is nothing to do this.

Wheres Jimbo!!
I know he has these in his heli.

Cheers

If you bling it, they will come :D

well I resisted shortening the spindle any further, and Im glad I did.
The spindle can still turn in the head, but only with an allen driver turning it lol.
Weird as it did not take up any slack in the head at all.
So I wondered what its doing to it in flight.
Just pulled as hard as I could on the grips to really load the bearings.
Hmmm slop all gone in every axis, even when pushing up and down fairly hard.
There is some movement of course, but not what I would call slop.
So I just accepted it and have flown it like that.
Flies great

If you bling it, they will come :D
