I can not mount my fctory motor due to the placement of the wires, I am unable to flush the motor against the mount. There is no way to do it, I took the motor mount off and I can not flush it to the motor due to the wires sticking out of the top of the motor. In all the pictures I have seen the wires come out the bottom.

Any idea on waht to do, other than contacting the place where I bought it and asking them what to do.

This is the brand new 450 Sport kit.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

The sport is the first Rex with a true outrunner, that's y the wires come out the bottom. Feel the can it spins w/ the shaft.
You just have to carefully bend the wires over

You should be able to press the wires down before you mount the motor. Try heating the shrink tube first and then press the wires flat.

Thanks for the reply guys, when the base of the motor turned I thought I broke it. One more question, how do you mount a 9257 on to the little mounting arms on the tail.

Thanks for all the help.

The first run of the pro came with an inrunner motor, but just like all the previous 450's the motor was getting pretty hot, temperature. So align started putting the sport motor in the newer pro's. after flight the motor is just warm to the touch, outrunners simply are more efficient. That is why so many people put outrunners in their previous model 450's.
I think, not sure though, that the first motor align put in the pro was called an outrunner, but was not a True outrunner.. someone can probably confirm that or tell me im wrong...

actually the first motor was a outrunner as well. Just had a can over it. your on the right track! even the 430xl was a outrunner.

your right though the new ones do run much cooler with a exposed can simular to scorpy's.

scott folding teh wires down will let you mount it in front, the wires will touch the frame but it fits.

not sure about your servo mounting screws but you should be able to get all 4 screws in. they do make if you can find them 4 alloy stepdown washers that fit in teh servo holes perfect and helps with mounting. on 1 servo i have the stock furaba rubber bushings and it workes fine.

Got the motor and the 65's in last night. Those wires were real hard to bend down enough to make it flush on the mount, but I think I did it right. Now I am trying to figure out how to mount the futaba 9257 tail servo. If someone can post picks of how they did it that would help a bunch.

Thanks everyone for all the help, it truly is appreciated.

That new motor is a keeper, loads of torque and stays cool. Very impressive. Yeah the leads needs to be bent flat, but I don't even remember in my build that it was a problem, because it's not.
