I've bought some stuff from that guy, I think it might be a way he helps pay for things. Bet he could tell you what anything is worth.

Buying and selling could be a hobby in its self. However, there are some guys on here that clearly seem to operating a hobby shop through the classifieds here, always selling new stuff, more than one, etc.

I would bet 2/3 or more of his posts are "TTT" an"BUMP"

Mark has booted other folks from RR for selling an excess amount of stuff. One such person I bought my first Caliber 90 from...I'm sure some of you know who he is...he had a tremendous amount of kits.

Cranet?

I wonder what happened to that guy.

3 years is enough time wasted. Taking a break for a while.

IMO Mr Green is a professional buyer and seller. I don't think he flies.

That brings up a question, I looked through RR's classified policy and didn't exactly see anything that says "you can't sell more than xxx amount of items in a certain time period"... I'm wondering if I'm missing it, what constitutes too much stuff being channeled through a user's account via the classifieds, and how is it determined that the person is "running a business" as opposed to someone who just buys and sells a lot of junk?

Heck I know everytime I "turn over" in a hobby I have a lot of different ads running on various websites.

Mikado Logo 400, hopefully ready by spring.

You'll know because "The Man" will "gray line" you first and then delete you if you don't behave.

How do you have any time to build if you are constantly buying/selling something?

Also, to me, it seems impossible to even come close breaking even buying/selling.

Yeah, I know a local here that buys helis off the net, parts em out, and makes some money. It's really the only way to get a profit, parting out.

I could definitely understand that. There is some sort of weird pleasure in disassembling something as complex as a helicopter. Then again, it's thrilling when you can reassemble it and have it running properly, too

Could be why I am also a sewing machine mechanic LOL

The more gear on a heli, the cheaper it goes for also fully loaded puts them in a higher 'price' bracket which generally reflects on the market appeal, or target audience 'lower'.
Not so many guy's hunting used, have £500-700 in there pockets.

Ive always averaged 20% ish, doesnt sound like much for the effort, but when you enjoy doing it and it pays for youre own hobby it's a worthwhile past-time.

Best bit is my wife supports it, and is utterly clueless as to which ones are mine

Ok Cranet is still around but not in heli much . I worked with him in partnership he had no shop it was his personal cash and yes he baught tons of stuff and never used it also I built many Helis and never flew them . He was into building to see the difference in quality and wrote reviews about it . He changed his mind then did planks so he sold or traded also gave tons to me . I still have Avant and Synergy . He was full of info and went to mmanufactures to talk to them face to face . He caught he'll for his opinions but because of him I got to learn , build and fly Helis I could never afford on my own . I also gained tons of expierince for my own ventures in this hobby .I also met many good nationally known people thru Cranet . At end of day he would say **** the money we had fun that's what counts

I dont know how to fly just how to not crash !!!!!

Buy and sell, but please at least know what you sell

I once bought a used pair of v-blades. They arrived with some very visible nicks. I confronted the seller and he said he bought the blades from someone else and never opened up the box, just posted a sales ad on RR again and grabbed the description from the original seller that said "v-blades in mint condition, satisfaction guaranteed."

I ended up using them as test blades and ground setup.
