Greetings fellow pilots, i recently purchased a pair of the K&B DD orange dampeners for the trex500 model and there were no instructions. I'm not sure which way they install. Does anyone know which end sticks outward away from the main shaft, the grooved end or the smooth end with the smaller outer diameter??
thanks kindly, Daniel

Are they supposed to have a small end like that?

i agree but,

thats kind of what i thought, but the picture i posted up there is the actual photo from readyheli.com, which lead me to believe that it is part of the dampener and not a mold sprue.

solution

here's a copy of the email i got from K&b DD. all figured out!

Daniel

The small dia. end of the dampener goes into the head block when not using the spindle sleeve. If you choose to run the sleeve you can trim it off. The people that do trim them and use the sleeve run a very high head speed. I hope this helps, if you have any problems let me know.

Thanks Kevin

What, was you supposed to figure that out by yourself? They could put something in the package stating that.Glad you got it figured out, learn something every day.

also remember to lube them up!, the reason they say (they mention the higher head speed) its cause they are stiffer than the others and @ the same head speed you will get what I call the ruler in the end of the desk effect. They are so stiff that after any input your heli will get this real bouncy effect; like when you put a ruler at the end of a desk and then flick it.

I dont suffer from mental iIlness, I actually enjoy mine!
