I am building my first T-Rex and was hoping someone could post a pic of the motor and ESC installed. I am mostly concerned on how you ran the wires from the motor to the ESC, I am using the stock motor and ESC.

Thanks in advance.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

450 SA when it still had a 72 MHz RX installed. Still the same, only the RX was replaced with an AR6100e.

I followed Ray's advice, of Ray's Helitech, and mounted the ESC to a spare battery tray and mounted the tray to the side frame. I then ran the wires between the side frames and looped them toward the motor.

Hey strat-
How do you like the scorpion esc? I've got the pheonix and have been far too busy the past year or two to fly my helis. I may start getting back into it. I notice they can be programmed by remote. How do you like that? How do they compare with the pheonix/castle creations esc's?

Kiwi,

I bought the Scorpion ESC and motor because it is what I had on my previous heli, RCTek 450 SkyShark. I had over heating issues with the stock esc so I went with the Scorpion ESC. Never had a problem once with the Scorpion ESC. So far this ESC and motor combo work fine. Like the last set up, no problems at all. My esc came with the remote programer, but to be honest I left all the settings alone. I've run 4 lipo packs back to back and the ESC was only warm. I am on the verge of converting my Rex 600E over to Scorpion motor and ESC. Maybe a pre-move project or a post move project. My family and I are moving to a place called the Azores in December.

I think I've seen your heli on one of the forums before. I really like your use of the wire loom. That looks sooo sweet!
