My Posts This: Topic Forum | Fancy name for voltage regulator, so is battery eliminator circuit.
Takes a higher input voltage and regulates it down to a usable voltage. It allows you to power your motor AND electronics from one big battery pack instead of having to have a battery pack for the motor and a battery pack for the on board electronics.
Many Electronic Speed Controls (ESC) have a built-in BEC/regulator, but many are limited in use by their maximum allowable input voltage and output current capabilities.
Quite a few people will disable the BEC in their ESC and supply an external BEC for the electronics, one that has a higher output current capability.
