Yeah I ran mine with the CY Super Stubz and it was pretty fast. They are only 12 grams compared to the lightest TT ones are 18 I think.

Well Something is different

I never measure my cyclic. I just fly it and increase or decrease my swash to get the feel that I like.
Had I done that with this new head I might have popped the links right off the swashplate! It had some really close tolerances in the neg 10+ area with the bottom of the long link rubbing up against the washout screw.

The only time it did it was at full left and right below -10 collective. I thought it would be a problem if I got crazy with the sticks trying new stuff, so I backed off the travel on aileron and elevator Endpoints.
I might try putting the mixing lever ball to the "sport" position and than keep my endpoints at 100 onthe cyclic. I should be able to still get 12.5 like I had today: considering this head has crazy amounts of excess travel on either end of the collective.
Yeah.. I know just max it out and fly the damn thing! I can hear Chris all the way down here. I'll get it, the conservative way if I have to.

Interactions and binding is one thing you definitely have to consider. Although I don't measure my cyclic, I do make sure that I don't have any interactions or binding with any of the levers or links. Thats crazy how close that link is to the washout because it doesn't look like a ton of throw there.

How often are you going to be at the extreme of all the throws???? I had similar problem with my rappy (albeit the hold head design) with the hoops rubbing against the lower mixing arms. At first I was worried but after thinking about it they only hit at the extreme thows and even then they would have to be there more than a split second to pop off the links. If it were me I don't think i would worry to much with a little binding.

Bring back the rotary phone so we don't have to press "1" to proceed to ENGLISH.

I don't know about that philosophy. Just because when you are learning new maneuvers and are not smooth at them yet, you might find yourself at full stick because of either trying to save the heli or just come around in the maneuver.

It also depends on the style of flying. I sometime use full stick inputs, although not constant, for popping and locking.

Also, do you want to risk a link popping off? Even if the risk is small?

So far so good

Well spent 2 tanks today farting with the raptor engine tuning chasing it for a while due to my muffler slowly getting loose. I kept checking it during needle adjustments but it never looked loose, probably the angle I was looking at it. It was just barely leaking but it was making a difference. It was talking to me by running great flying around but when I dropped down to normal it would run lean all of a sudden. I thought the low end needle was in too much so I gave a smidge on the second flight and that's when I saw the Muffler during a wiggle check. That didn't end the day for me though. The Govenor did. Nope I didn't throw a magnet like I normally do, the whole friggin govenor sensor came off the engine! Both bolts back out on me. There's a first, for me at leaste. I learned my lesson with this one. You'd be proud. I made sure throttle curves were flyable before I started No auto necessary. So much for preflight regimine. I still check the tail hub.. every once in a while.
On a positive note flip rates are right up there with my Razor but the Roll rates are still a bit slow. I might look around for some stubs and give them a try. Pretty happy so far though, she's better than she was. Too bad I don't have a friend with a Trex 600 to compare it too. Well I do but he's in love with his 700 right now and the 600 is riding the pine.

My 600 is riding the pine too because of the 700...

I did get the new 450 pro finished up tonight though. 3 new Rhino batteries charged and ready to go. I have to work all day tomorrow so I will be doing the first flights in our hangar.

Local Celeb!

If you get a chance, check out the story in the local Kalkaska newspaper, there is a 2 page artical on CD Hobbies, and the only picture is Sr. flying his scale 500(30 size). Nice artical, Chief
