I didn't know.

WOW - It sounds like it takes alot of upgrade parts and cash to make a craptor go.

Sell that thing and buy a Tiger

You know who it is.

Just for the HELI of it.

Let's see: Buy a $300 Trex NSP kit or buy $100 of Raptor parts to make it fly better than a Trex. Hmmmm

$100.00

I'm pretty sure a hundred bucks would of bought you a Tiger, Webra 50, CSM Gyro, Ace tail servo, Cambells Muffler and wood blades. What where you thinking?

We'll see

From the people I've talked to here at the fun fly's who have both birds, the new geometry of the the SE head has brought the Raptor pretty dang close to the Trex in the agility catagory. Of course the set up is everything, then there's the servos and Radio speed.
I recently reset my throttle to engine geometry and carb tuning and found I was all dorked up! She now has the reponse and throaty power I have always heard on others, but never achieved with my bird.
I realize you guys love the trex and you started were I am now with the raptor but I'm willing to try this new hardware on the old gal to see what she can do, you never know.
Too be continued,
Now go shovel snow! I'm going flying

Born again!

All put together! Farted with resetting all the links and servo horns all afternoon. Swashplate is level: it wasn't even close when I started I think I have been compensating for a lot of wierd settings. 15 degrees of pitch available! Set to 12.5 for now I don't think the old Hyper could take more than that. Just have to get her down to the field to rough it in again. I'm thinking it's going to be flying real good now! I found a lot of funky dimesions in the rigging when I reset everything to default values. Too many late afternoon beer enhanced tuning episodes at the hut I guess.

I have one too. They're cool. I figured a vacume cleaner company could make that right at leaste!

those inverted back spinning hurricanes

I can't help but to feel like this is a poke at me lol. Just don't try that maneuver when you have rusty fingers, thats all I can say.

Did you guys see me buzz over last night. We went over about 4 I think it was. We were a little high, about 2500ft or so. Did some pattern work at the ol kalkakistan airport.

Nick
If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter

Test Flight

All went well today with the Reborn Rappy! Spunky feeling controls, guess cause everything is tight a as a drum. The engine likes the MP5 SB I got for 60 bucks. Cylics response so far is rather slow unfortunatly. I tamed the cyclic throws back from 10 during setup on the bench due to the flight controls rubbing in some extremes. What do you guys run on the cyclic? I'm at 7 right now and it's a dog compared to before. I read some peolpe on here have 6-7 and thats fine.

I never measure my cyclic. I just fly it and increase or decrease my swash to get the feel that I like.

I always found that the only way to get the rappy to rock and roll with cyclic is with upgrading the paddles.
