the blade grips on my logo 500 are acting funny 1 is loose and the other is tight... as in there's some (very slight) play in 1 one of them where i can move the glade grip up and down a small amount but not in and out on the shaft is this normal or should i be alarmed? (only 3 flights on my logo 500)

Sounds like thrusts damaged. Did you grease them? What kit was it? I always put in extra hard dampers.

I've had the same problem a couple times now. Seems the stock bearings and/or retainers are not holding up. Granted this is after 30-40 flights but I would think it would last longer than that.

The plastic spacers and O-rings seem fine too.

I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that this head was originally designed for the Logo 400? Maybe the stress/weight of the 500 is a tad much for the head?

I am going to try some upgraded bearings for next season and see how it goes.

Regardless, this should not happen on a brand new Logo.

Well its the same head for logo 500SE.

I was swinging the 690MM rotors on the 600 head etc and the thrusts were the least of my worries.

Did you fit them the right way round?
The manual talks about a smaller and larger inner diameter of the bearing faces.
Plus the ball cage should face outwards to keep the grease in.

Yea, I know craze. That thought (under size head) just occurred to me since I also have one grip with too much vertical play.

I do remember reading about a few guys putting the L600 head on the 500 but I don't know if I'd do that. If I were to stretch it into an SE to run 600's then I might.

Maybe it's just poor quality thrust bearings/races.

I'm actually thinking about stretching my std. L500 to run 600's to help me with auto practice.

heres what i did that worked i pulled it apart and greased the dampers because i had forgotten to do that then i went ahead and took the grips apart made sure everything fit right and the spacers were all there then i added a thick washer to the end (after the washer that they tell you to put on the end) and it works like a champ no play whatsoever and fly's beautifully i am also running 5000 mah battery's that give 8 minutes of 3d with 1200 mah left at the end putting about 3800 back in can prolly do about 12 minutes gentle flight
