there are *lots* of heli's with plastic grips. MA Stratus comes with some kick-*** plastic grips as far as I know. Yes the Raptor 50 and even 90 (not SE) comes with plastic grips. They work great.

My Predator gasser swinging heavy FAI 720 blades at 1900, NO issue trusting the plastic blade grips. It's not about the material they are made of but the designed stress limits.

Plastic grips are used by many manufacturers that are strong and can handle high loads and headspeeds. It all depends on the manufacturer and how the grips are designed.

I've got one thing to say about plastic blade grips!

The value of a man is shown in how he treats someone he can gain nothing from.

If there was a problem using plastic grips, we would have learned about it years ago. Plastic grips are just fine. Why people are all of a sudden against using them is unbelievable.

many of them don't know any different.

there was a time when plastic grips were the norm.

these new folks seem to expect a lot. they would have had a sh!t fit with the stuff we flew several years ago.

A plastic head will absorb a lot more energy in a crash. So much better for those with a smaller budget. The first people telling us to buy something because it's better, are the dealers and distributors. After that it's all who will and can convince themselves to chase the Jone's. There is nothing wrong with flying well designed plastic parts. Most of us can't even come close to bang a heli as the prose have done and still do form time to time with plastic head part's and blade gripes.

Evey one has a opinion to why the clones are so much cheep er. Most of the heaters are just pissed that they can't compete with their prices. So they will make up crap and try to smear it. Most of these people have never even seen one of these clones in person to realy come up with any conclusion to why they don't like it.
