Which pinion with the motor?

I have two rappy 50 but buying the klone
Was by accident on eBay figuring someone would outbid
Me but that did not happen. So I figure what is better
vs what does not work with this type of Heli. So any
help is greatly appreciated. Thx.

Scorpion 2221-8 is the most popular motor going in the 450 class. Most fly it on a 12T or a 13T. From my experience with it I would say 12T if you are an average flyer and a 13T if you do hard 3D.

Most fly 450s on 3s 2200mah 25C batts.

I think a better setup would be a Scorpion 2221-10 on 4s instead of 3s. Probably an 11T or 12T pinion. Fly about 1800mah batts. with the 4s to maintain balance. You'll get cooler temps on your electronics and at least as long, or possibly longer flight times with the 4s setup.

Since it is a clone, I wouldn't spend too much money on the motor setup. Like putting a Porsche motor in a Fiat. Goto xheli. com and look at their 35A speed controller and a 2800-3500 kva motor. You could look and see what type of motor the have on their arf setup and go with the same thing. People have had mixed results with xheli so YRMV. I have had good luck so far.
