Hey I never bash anyone using any charger! Nor do I bash any other chargers. I just point out the limitations of some and the high cost of others in comparison to the iCharger line. Hey I am partial just like

Sorry when I see you refer to them as "problematic and unreliable" I read crap. Maybe you are just trying to be a good citizen but I doubt it, you have a bone to pick with a charger you have never seen or used. Why?

Yes the 208B requires 17V for the full 350W of output. On 12V it will output about 280W. The $120 106B+ requires 13.5V for its measly 250W of output.

That all said, Ace I am not going to hash this out yet again. You recommend what you want and I will do what I want. Just be truthful and accurate, that is all I ask.

I am always truthful and accurate.

What would you call it when a guy's charger gets scrambled three times in a matter of months and needs to be re-flashed each time? Remember, I only gave you one example.

You need to grow up and realize that just because the iCharger is the best charger for you, doesn't mean it's the best charger for everyone.

All chargers brands/models are prone to problems at some point. Just because one guy has a problem with his 208B doesn't mean they all have problems. Sure maybe these are more prone to problems than say a Bantam but they also offer more than the Bantam charges both in terms of output capability, options and later compatibility with newer cell types, and all for less cost. So is it worth the so called chance? Yes I think it is but you are right, that is me.

Try reading the other 5,000+ posts in the thread and get back to me. As I mentioned, I only gave you one example. There are many more.

There's nothing wrong with taking a chance, but when recommending a charger, the vast majority of folks aren't interested in dealing with it.

Cost is not the most important factor to me when selecting a charger.

in this case we are specifically discussing in reference to the hyperion 615 duo 3 charger.

the charger is not in question. it is the power supply that we are trying to nail down.

The power supply is not in question either. The requirements are covered in the owner's manual. Follow the directions in the manual and you will not have a problem.

The 615i Duo 3 is good to 28V. You have to give it somewhere near this when charging 5000 6S to get the 180W/ channel, which on my 45C's & VX's is 7.2A charge rate. That's the best I can get with 27.2V

Are you getting 7.2A out at 25.2v?

I can't reduce it. I have two 55A 13.6V PS's wired in series for 55A@ 27.2V. So, it's either 13.6V, 14.2V, 27.2V, or 28.4V. So, I'm using 27.2V

I'm talking charger output, not input.

If they are 5000's I don't think a 20A will do what your asking, but please post your results. My buddy has a 45A, and 2 610 duo's charging 4 5000 6S and the PS just barely does it...

I burned up a pro peak 20A PS and decided to pick up a 25A Radioshack PS for fairly cheap. Nice thing is for $7 more they said I could smash it into a wall for up to a year and if it quit they'd replace it.

It powers a Bantam BC-8 charging a 6S 5000 pack and a TP 1010 charging a 10S 4200 stick simultaneously at 1C. I've also done 2 6S 5000 at 1C on each charger as well.

Now if your looking at getting into big packs and having lots of headroom for multiple chargers check out the Iota brand power supplies. I will probably pick one up when i get another charger or two.
