what are the options that you've run across for a 25-35 amp power supply that will put out 13-16 volts in a reasonable price range?

Search eBay for 15V power supplies and you will find lots.

Just out of curiosity, why so few watts?

My buddy and I made a power source from a computer, it worked, but not well. Ultimately, we both bought power supplys designed for hobby use in the 30 amp range. I would go ahead and get a good one, you wont regret it.

Computer power supply works but I think you have to use a good one to make it work, cost about the same as dedicated PS. I converted one came out of DELL and it worked but it was having problem when charge voltage reach around 12.4v@3amp, If I charge at 2.2amp it work fine. I bought a PS from RC place and now I charge at 3s@8AMP no problem.

Yep, thats what I did. Cheap and easy. Of course I only charge 2 and 3 cell packs. It works great for me, but if you are charging big packs you may want something else. A 400 watt ATX supply is very easy to find which is plenty for most applications.

gotta be 30+ amp 13-16 volts minimum for 6s packs on a hyperion duo 3 charger to get best charge rate.

computer supplies are typically 12 volt.

I would highly suggest staying away from PC power supplies. While many have good luck, I've seen too many short out and cause a fire hazard. Suffice to say they are not being used in their original purpose, and the power supply case is not designed for standalone use outside a PC case.

HERE is a compact, 23amp/350watt, power supply that will work well.

computer power supplies typically put out 12 volts max. wouldn't want one for reason stated above as well.

Yea thats why I only use mine on small packs. For the larger packs I would not be conformable using a comp. supply.

The duo requires about 400W for maximum output. That equates to about 27A at 15V. You could also use a 24V at 17A. That is ONLY if you need the full 180W out on each port. If you are not using all of it, then you can use much smaller power supplies.

Regardless I like some of the power supplies off eBay under the name Asia Engineer. Search for 15V 23A and you should find them.
