I think Mikado have got the V bar with V4 bang on the Money,Align will have to go some to even get close to that system.

I have no doubt given time and Money they will get there.

and by the time align gets close to the vbar 4.0 system, Mikado will be out with either a new software version or a new product even more refined. Personally, I would like to see a different manufacturer lead somewhere as it seems aligns trying to take over and rule the heli world. Imagine a fun fly where every heli is exactly the same in every way with align branded all over the things....no thanks. I think they are in love with themselves, I laughed so hard when I saw Align even branded their main shafts, lol.

In the past Align has done very fast development. I expect that the first release will not be perfect but after 6 months or a year it will probably be the top gyro on the market.

There is no way the Europeans can compete with Asia when it comes to price (European labor cost is crazy high) so I would expect that Align would start with about half the price of the V-Bar just to shake up the market – LOL.

Lowest price is not always the right choice.

A glitchy FBL solution will be VERY expensive, so I hope they rather not release it then let users beta-test..

It’s best to reserve judgement until Align actually comes out with their new gyro. Making a judgement without all the facts (or in this cast no facts) is never a wise thing to do. It might be good or it might be crap – we just don’t know at this time.

Glad to see I'm not the only one trying to be "the voice of reason".

All this speculation is killing us. Hopefully Santa will be good to the flybarless community. I prefer to not be an early adopter this round, so I'm counting on all of you to pave a clear path for my next flybarless unit purchase in the spring...

I watched Alan Jr. fly his align flybarless rex 700 yesterday and it looks so far so good. He's tight lipped on the software status and price, but being it is a prototype, a lot should change between it and the final product. I watched him do some very nice low level piro tic tocs in one spot and tracking was very nice looking. Definitely flybarless is the future of rotorhead stabilization for rc helis. Talking with Alan, his vision is to have the align flybarless unit act like a flybarred heli with the advantages that flybarless offers. Definitely something to keep an eye out for.

There will be a lot of people buying this FBL unit for the customer beta test. Too bad for them as I'm sure there will be issues that crop up. I would certainly wait until V2. I bet the price is around $229.

Compare the design to anything else out on the market, then you will get it.. its an opinion not a fact, I think CY deserves a little respect, I guess you are new to the hobby because CY has a record of releasing top notch products guess you missed that...

and when did I say how great it was ?? As if I had flown it??

You're right, it is, but still just an opinion, and I was not knocking Align I have two 700's, just sayin CY has a great design concept so IF it performs as it should it will be at the top of the list.

But judging from the two fried Align ESC's I have had, I do not have alot of faith in Align electronics. Switched to Castle and no problems , I hope the FBL system performs better, try it out and let me know, Thanks.

My only concern with the Total G is the fact it has no separate sensor. It's an all in one unit that has all three sensors along with a receiver, gov, power, switch, etc.

When you plug all those wires into the unit, wouldn't the weight of the wires alone during high G maneuvers play vibration havoc on the sensors? I would think that having a separate sensor would work better.
