HAHA!! I know exactly what you mean!
(DKTEK) That is awesome! Thanks for sharing that info.
I have had a chance to finally really get some good settings on the little 250 now and also run some tests myself on how the performance and head-speeds affect not only the flying characteristics, but runtimes.
I am currently running (100-95-90-95-100) in IDL2 which is for my 3D stuff of course. (83-78-78-78-78) in IDL1 This is for fun sport/scale flying just around the yard and whatnot and (78-68-68-65-60) in IDL3 which is used for slow flying and hovering indoors etc... I have had really good experience with it so far at these settings and it took a lot of tweaking and messing around with all the different numbers/headspeeds to finally arrive at these settings. In normal sport/scale flying mode either IDL1 or IDL3 i can run for 6:30 minutes with 130 MAH still to spare before reaching the 80% mark, so with the Align 860 MAH packs I usually am only putting back around 510-540 MAH at charge. In IDL2 with the 3D settings I am only running 4:30 minutes and have the rates setup very high as well and it still only puts back around 580 MAH at charge. When i finish flying either settings the ESC, Motor are barely warm to the touch. The battery is hardly even noticeably warm. I am pretty happy with these settings so far and it allows me to do so much with this little thing. I feel like i can take her anywhere with me and fly any kind of style which is the idea and so much fun!!! Thanks guys for posting so much good info and for all the help getting her to this point. It is a really fun little heli to fly and mess with now!
By the way DKTEk that is a really cool little fuse for the 250! I really want one now! i think i'll have to end up buying another 250 down the road so I can have one for 3D and one for a sport/scale side as well, especially since this thing is so Unbelievably stable for it's little size!! Mine is smooth as glass and really solid in a hover, (baring there isn't too much wind... )
Cheers,
-Clint
