you should be able to tighten down the spindle bolts. If you can't without the bearings locking up then something may be wrong. I've solved this by heating up the metal grips and tapping the bearing stack together to make sure they are snug against each other.

But before doing that make sure that you have the thrust bearings installed correctly. The side that has the larger inner diameter needs to be on the head hub side and the one with the smaller inner diameter needs to be on the blade side.

thank you for responding what a nightmare at first , and i found an excellent site for my problem , when i took off my old blade grips 1 washer instead of a coupler on each side etc was a total mess dunno how it flow and why it never crashed the way i had everything together.

http://www.airfieldmodels.com/galle...step_eleven.htm

so you mean i should be able to tighten it like locktight when all the bearings are properly installed ?

could be bad bearings but if it's tight tne I'd bet that either the parts are not installed right or it doesn't have the right parts in it.

Are the collars too thick with the new grips? Try assembling without a collar(don't fly it this way). See if the grips free up. If so you are going to have to find thinner collars. I almost ordered a pair of these grips, glad I didn't now!

how tight do you have to tighten the screws ? i saw a youtube video
where the guy tighten the screw just enough until the other side started turning to prevent crushing the bearings from over tighting.

can i over tighten the blade grips to the spindle shaft ?

i double checked and all the bearings are fine and in correctly
just if i over tighten the screws the grips dont turn as lean if i tighten to much they twist to rich .

so the screws are tight just not 20 lbs of torque tight.

and the collars are fine.

and it has the same parts as in the picture

I tighten my spindle bolts down pretty tight. You shouldn't need to set any clearance issues with the spindle bolt torque. Also put a drop of blue locktite on them, don't need those backing out. The blade grips should rotate smooth on the spindle with the spindle bolts tight. If they don't something is wrong.

I have used the Mavrikk metal blade grips which is what it looks like you have there. I didn't have any problems. When you need to take the bearings out I had to use some heat, a portable ceramic heater got the grips hot enough to where I needed a hand towel to hendle them, used a allen wrench and a light hammer to gently tap them out.

my grips

the bearing setup is the same

the only thing i can think of would be to remove the colars

in fect i think when i took the plastic grips of they had a small black washer instead of a collar but since i had two heads.

the plastic grips i took off had 1 washer on one side and 1 collar on
the other side.

so im getting it all right now, so my next question is maybe the
metal grips dont need the collars but washers instead.

i see how you would be able to monkey tighten the screws with out the bearings being affected , i get it now . at least i finally got the bearings in order
