For FAI flying, yes its that much better from anything else, not only Vibe 90.

JR Vibe 90 , Sylphide 90 C , JR Vibe 50 , JR AS 50 , T-rex SE V2 , Raptor 50 Titan

personal, totally biased opinion, YES, it is still better than Vibe SG.

Reason a lot of people aren't raving about it is because it's so damn expensive and hence not many people get a chance to try it out.

In terms of sound and presence there is no competition. Flight characteristics might be similar with Vibe SG probably a bit faster due to being a tad lighter (but I haven't got round to weighing them side by side). Belt drive is also better suited to FAI since you get no torque reaction.

Maintenance wise the SG is better, as anyone who has to take a fuel tank out of a Sylphide, or get change the tail pulleys, will atest.

The SG has options that are upgrades on the Sylphide, like 140 CCPM and sprag auto unit. But the Sylphide is definitely the smoother and quieter machine, and in a Gracy fuse it's simply superb.

The Sylphide is an out and out FAI machine. The SG can do both 3D and FAI and is cheaper so there is the selling point.

Yes while I agree that the Sylphide is expensive... I do want to comment that it is still much less expensive than Kyosho's and Hirobo's top-of-the-line FAI machines...

You usually have to order them from overseas, since Horizon doesnt bring them into the states.

However, soon you will be able to purchase Sylphides directly in the US... stay tuned.

Are they also going to carry parts for it? It would be nice if I could buy them here directly.

Yes... some of the parts will be carried... probably the more likely to break parts. But do you really break stuff on a Sylphide? If youre doing F3C stuff... I tend to keep mine up high and out of harms way....
