I know the regular Spectra kit uses a Stratus style head and that Spectra Deluxe have the Tempest style head.
But what’s the real difference in flight characteristics?
The Tempest head has metal grips right?

Ive owned both heads on my G, and preferred the extreme head.
More agile in the air, and much cheaper to fix if you put it in.

The Tempest head looks nice, but those skinny grips bend quite easily.

All depends on your flying style, some like a quiker heli, and some like a more docile heli. Although the difference between them isnt a huge amount. Hope this helps!!

The rotor head is the only difference. The Deluxe kit has the Tempest rotor head.

I think the Tempest head is really nice. I recommend the "Spectra Deluxe".

Just wait till you crash an SG Vibe 90. Then I'll ask you how expensive your MA feels.

Yes, I have crashed (lost it in the treeline) an SG. Wasn't even mine!

I guess it could always be worse!

If your worried about the cost of replacment parts then this hobby is not for you. Fly with what works best for you! not based on cost or fly a T-Rex clone there cheep and fly like it.

I have both heads, one extreme on an Ion X-2 and the tempest on a Spectra G. both fly very well and I have swapped them to see what I like the best.
I find the narrower extreme flies better on the Ion X2 and the wider tempest better on the Spectra G.

get one of each and make up your own mind but I can tell you both fly well.

Talegunner, when did i say i was worried about the costs? The smiley at the end usually means something is said in jest. I have 5 top end helis, you think I am worried about the costs?

Anyway the OP was wanting to know the differences, so the cost is a major difference. IMO if you tend to crash a lot, I would go for the Extreme head due to cheaper bits to replace, or if you dont really crash or have lots of money, go ahead and get the Tempest head.

To me the Tempest head flies pretty much the same, maybe a tad more stable as it is wider. It does look nice, but im more into becoming a better flyer these days, rather than how shiney my heli looks
