I'm about to upgrade my MT motor again. This time from a JGF500TH.

The stock MT motor is supposedly 3500kv

The Scorp 2221-8 is 3595kv and the 2221-10 is 3000kv (but is being touted as an E325 replacement motor).

I'm running 3s and have 13 and 14t pinions. Looking for 5-6 min flights at 2900+/-100 HS

What do you guys recommend?

I don't think the HK-2221-10 is a replacment for the MT, It's more like a 4S motor.

I fly a 2221-8 on 12T and get 5:15min. flights on 3S 2200mah 25C. I only got 4:00min flights on the 13T eventhough I was flying the same headspeed with both setups (throttle curve changes).

The 2221-10 is a 4s motor. If I didn't have a bunch of 3s batts. already I would go 4S and the 2221-10 with about a 1600-1800mah batt.

Thanks guys.

I still have 5 good 3s 2200mAh packs and a JGF500TH on a 14t pinion so I guess I'm going to wait until the packs die and then decide if i still want to upgrade to 4s.

Was the 500TH better than the stock motor?

It didn't get as hot as the stock motor (which was my issue) but power-wise, they are probably pretty close. It's been so long since I've flown the stock motor I can't give you a better answer.

The -8 is the hot motor.

The -10 is the hotter motor.

Scorpion motors are high current motors as compared to the stock motor.
I have the -8 with 13T and get 4.5 minutes with 12 degrees of pitch.
