Swash is 0 -zero'd out in all three axsis,s, - sub trims's are very minimal if any, link's dead on to proper length, servo arms are near perfect in position.

I have a bit of left and backwards drift during lift off.

What's the proper method to tune the swash ??

Adjust individual linkage lengths?

Adjust sub trim's on each servo individually??

Or is their a one or two step easier way ?

Would like to get as near perfect as possible for hands off hover .

Try and get the balance to the right front. Anything you do to trim or linkage now will bite you when you go inverted.

Only thing to do is use trim. Nothing wrong with that.
I will say that even with exact setup, a 450 isn't going to stay in one place as long as a larger bird.

only in a perfect world, could you get the servos at a perfect 90, and the linkages dead on ! that is what the subtrim is there for

nothing to it but to do it

Kahn,

When you say fly-barless, are you refering to electronic stabilization? My understanding is you can actually leave the fly-bar on the heli and just use the electronics for stailizing the heli in flight.

I set my T 450 up following the Ray's Helitech method. It's pretty close to spot on. I know you can make adjustments to the linkages to off-set the forces caused by the tail rotor and the rearward drft can be corrected as well by adjusting the linages. (half a turn here and there)

I always have fun. Some times are more fun than others.

I use the Finless methods on the "other" site. Bob's methods work for me.

I am talking about flybarless system, which is 'like a gyro' for your cyclic (some flybarless systems do indeed have gyro function also built in).

if you want to go the conventional/mechanical way:

you can try using heavier paddles, which will give you gyroscopic stability

before you try anything, the bird should be in equilibrium (i.e. center of gravity should be on the main shaft). after that, all opposing linkages should be exact same length. the swash needs to be leveled at mid, high and low points - there are quite a few leveling tools available.

even if you get the bird setup perfectly, it will not sit/hover in one place too long. that is just the nature of the beast

cheers, khan

ps i have never tried the copilot system either, but they work fairly well - but that is another topic

Thanx Guy's

I got it without sub trim's - by using 1/2 link's , which still leaves me my sub's if I need it.

Too bad I only have a new 60 second Lipo : Just one of those deal's )

Lot of little trip;s - but it will hover sit within 4' with around 15% expo and the chase isn't to bad .

Next is to finance some batteries or look for one or two sound used ones, and see if this YuTong Lipo balance charger is adequate and find a good used blinkey.
