the os power boost pipe works very well with the 50 hyper
it gave my hyper a nice increase in power from the zimmerman i had on it and the motor pulls much better in the midrange now
the only down side to the pipe is the increase in noise from it

yeah, nothing wrong with that pipe at all. I had one but it met its demise my first crash, poor thing, was only 4 flts old.

I have to pick up another one soon, this way when I can afford the 55 I won't have to buy a new pipe.

Just crashed my SDX yesterday due to a cell failure in my lipo pack and I can really say the SDX is very durable since my crash was high-speed dive loss control front end bottom first into soft packed soil ground at 2000 blade rpm (looks like a sliding crash, luckily engine died and no chicken dance and that the recent typhoon wetted/softened the ground).

Damaged parts are the usual main blades, spindle, mast, boom, landing gear. Boom supports and 2 linkages were bent. The radio tray was damaged but could have been avoided if I used the stock plastic body posts and not aluminum ones. Engine and muffler is OK. The springy SDX landing gear and dampeners absorbed most of the impact.

I estimate the cost of repair to around US$60 not including the main blades of course.

Had a mid-air with a Blade 400 yesterday. Almost a direct hit, the impact point was approx. 1/2" below the nose of the canopy. The only damage to my SDX was the landing gear, one rubber isolator mount and one canopy post. The Blade was totaled.

For all who dismiss the SDX's blow-molded bleach bottle canopy, I attribute the minimal damage to the toughness on the canopy. My canopy has multiple scrapes where the CF blades of the Blade 400 raked it from the nose to the lower right corner. A fiberglass canopy would have cracked and allowed the Blade 400 to take out my electronics.
