My Posts This: Topic Forum | Without much detail (motor, gear ratio, etc), I will guess that your T-C is below 70-80%. If you plan on hovering only, I would suggest you up the T-C to about 80-90% and reduce the pinion of the head speed is too high.
Generally, ESC aren't too happy running at less than 70-80% and would heat up and run less efficiently.
If you have scorpion 2221-6, there isn't much you can do with pinion as you can't go smaller. But any other motor, you should be able to run down to 11T pinion and run higher T-C (throttle curve) and ESC will be much happier. If the ESC has a safetly thermal cutoff, that could be it.
Ideal T-C for normal mode is 0 inh X% inh (x+5)% that means the T-C from neutral to full is almost flat.
