I built a HK250GT and it rocked. When I crashed it I built a T250 and it is so slow in roll and loop, cyclic... What to do? 16t pinion? Motor?

I have one with stock motor with a 16t pinion running 100% throttle curve on idle up and it rolls and flips faster than I really need it to. Make sure your swashplate is moving enough but do not let it bind.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Considering I swapped the servos and same programing between the HK and T I was surprised the T had such poor performance. Are you running +/- 11 degrees?

Maybe I just need a 16t pinion...

Not sure honestly. Same set up as the HK and the cyclic rate is not nearly the same. It must be in head speed. Same set up, same blades. Paddles are different and the motor... How much cyclic are peopple getting and should I go to 16t? That or swap in the hotter motor....

Dude they are diffrent birds you have to mesure your cyclic . Just because one had X cyclic does not mean that the Trex 250 will have the same.

I too find the stock motor a little weak. She bogs when doing back-to-back manouvers and there is a special kind of fear that happens when you watch it skitter around the sky as the tail looses hold.

I am going to be swapping in a new motor. Not sure if I will go with the Scopion, Align or the Z-Power offerings. The 16T pinion seems to be a good idea as well, although on the stock motor and esc you should probibly stick with the 15T.

Anyone running the stock motor and esc with a 16T? Seems it may run a little hot to me...

As for pitch, I was running +11/-11 but found it doesn't have the pop I need. I put max pitch to +14/-14 with the travel from 11 to 14 in the last 1/8th or so of the collective travel on the transmitter. That seems to be a little much so I think I am going to dial it back to 13 or 12 and see how that works.

I have 8 degrees of cyclic, I increased it to 8 1/2, that's as far as I am comfortable with. I guess I'll try a 16t pinion and if that is not enough I'll swap motors.

Deffinatly try the 16T pinion, it will improve it dramatically. Next try the new SP motor which comes with the new 250SE, it has more power. I run my cyclic so that the links on the flybar cage just touch the underside of the main blade grips and around +/-11 collective, you wont need much more than that on the 16T pinion. Also the new Align 850mah 30C packs are amazingly powerful and run sooo cool!

Before my ignomous end, I was playing with settings to see what I could get for preformace. I actually had it dialed in pretty good. Was getting reasonable preformance in back-to-back manouvers. Still wasn't able to do a continuous tic-toc, but was able to do forward flips and rolls pretty much at will. Here were my settings

Pitch: ~ +12/-12
Throttle: Flat at 90%
Governor: on
Timing: High
Battery: 860mah 25C Outrage

I find she hovers at about 7 degrees pitch at 90% throttle. Hope that helps!

Dude, 100% flat, governor OFF, +/-11, max cyclic without binding, 16T pinion. Try it.
