Anyone have the area on their fuel tank where it meets the rubber grommets be worn?

The bottom rear of my tank where the grommets meet the tank has a groove worn in the tank. Not all the way through, but you can see a hole worn about 1/4 -1/2 way through the tank. I was wondering if I could put shoe goo or epoxy to fill in the worn area in the tank?

This is on a used V50.
Thanks,
JAy

Ended up getting a new tank, but keeping the old one as a spare. I put 5 min epoxy over the worn areas and filled it until it was flush with the rest of the tank.

I got my velocity used and it had a header tank on it. A long 3 mm grubscrew was used in the lower bearing block with an extra frame spacer to attach a QuickUK header tank on it.

Header Tank

Works great, I don't know if I need it or not on the Velocity, but I have to get one anyway, safe better than sorry.

Thanks, Long
