Valentino Rossi might be on the wane now

if his finishing position was the best he could do that guy might well be on the way downbut his talent will take some matching as far as consistency goes for many a year. That guy never ceases to amaze,to achieve what he has is truly awesome. If respect has to be earned he has earnt it in bucketloads.(Not a fan by the way)

I tell ya, Ben is a hell of a nice guy. He has bought 3 cars from us over the past couple of years and he has never been rude or arrogant. I work at a BMW dealership near Road Atlanta. I'm guessing he buys cars from us because his uncle lives here and buys from us as well. WTG Ben! I'll be pullin for ya in 2010'

ya he's a super nice guy. I've met him a few times in the paddock when I wrenched for Hooters back in 2003ish, when Vincent Haskovec and Mikey were racing. Speaking of Road Atlanta, that new turn 12 sucks. I raced it last year and its soooo boring compared to the old turn 12. And the new chicane they put in the turn 4 area was soooo bad at the first WERA event run there that 8 guys crashed. I was the final one to go down before they decided to yank that chicane for the weekend

I live 5 miles from Road A. Did you race WERA? You know Wade Buffington? He was a friend of mine, I havent spoken to him in years, I think he works for Maxxis or something.

No I don't know him, but my old Roommate Mark Crozier probably knows him as he raced for Maxxis endurance team back in 2004. Dude could lay down 19s at Jennings GP on a Gsxr 1000 with Maxxis garbage street tires LOL. And yes raced Road Atlanta a few times

Sometimes I dont realize how quickly time flies. Wade probably stopped racing about 7-8 yrs ago. I was actually on his pit list when Bostrom and Gobert were going at it on Ducatis. I think that was in 99'? One of the techs at my shop was his mechanic and Wade would put me on his pit crew list every once in a while. Pretty cool having "Hot Pit" pass, although I never went down to the Hot pit as I didnt want to get in anyones way.

im thinking two things, one he was trying to get some serious heat into the front tire and was pushing it and two the track had a lot of sand on it due to the winds so the combination made him crash

I could buy the sand theory, since it was a high side. Still its wierd, as there was no signs of the rear breaking loose, which you'll usually see (or feel if you're the rider), before the bike threw him. If he was trying to push the front, you'd expect a low side.

Ever highsided on a cold tire (just off warmers but not up to temp)? I have LOL at Daytona Bike Week 2004. I was starting my stint in the endurance race on a 2004 636. Got into the international horse shoe, came out and it shot me to the moon. No warning, nothing, bike snapped out on me so fast, caught and I did a literal front flip with my back parallel to the ground LOL.

Stoner: Ducati likes to warm up its tires on their back up bike to save fuel. Then, they would swap tires to the main bike. I think they forgot to swap tires so Stoner rode cold tires on his warm up lap. Oooops!

High siding sucks... It gives you time to think about how you screwed up as you fly through the air before it slams you into the pavement. A nice fast lowside and it is all over but the sliding before you know it.

they never swap tires after warm up lap in any road racing you do not swap tires. You swap them after the parade lap. Is that what you meant to say?
