Wooooohooo. Our Fellow American just wrapped up the World Superbike Championship In Portugal. He was a rookie in WSBK this year. He set a record 11 pole positions and beat haga by a mere 7 points. Now the young Texan is off to join fellow Texan and 2 time World Superbike Champion Colin Edwards On the Satellite Monster Yamaha MotoGP Team next year. I hope Yamaha gives him the same equipment that Valentino Rossi is on and can move up to a factory MOTOGP bike in the following year since Rossi and Lorenzo may defect from the factory team for 2011.

That was great to see!!

A few close calls in Race 2 with eager beavers around ben and I thought, watch one take him out!!

but was all...... good!!

If he climbs in moto gp the way he did WSB. the title is coming home!!

Ya man, I was freaking out in race two waiting for a ten kate bike to do to spies what they did to Haga 4 rounds ago. I can't wait to see him race motogp. Only thing I'm worried about is he's sooo used to riding a superbike i.e. point and shoot like Nicky that he won't get along with the MotoGP 800s, but he did do well last year on the GSVR and almost podiumed in the wet at Indy on it. God I can't wait now till motogp 2010. too bad I dont have anyone to root for now in WSBK though I would love to see Haga-son get it next year as I've been a Haga fan for 10 years

And I see Honda Machines at the top again some day...........

So

I hafta stay with J reay

But Haga has been a Favorite of mines too for many a Years. Member the day he hit a Bird with his shoulder doing 100+? forget were that was assen?

Oh yea!!

I was over at Millville NJ for the last rounds of AMA. I sure would have loved to have seen Elbows and Mladin fighting it out. coming out of the last corner under the bridge there, that would have been awesome!!

Next year will be awesome watching Rossi, Stoner, Pedrosa, Spies, and Lorenzo.

Rossi is still the god of MotoGP tho.

I have to disagree on Rossi. He has done nothing but whine this season about all of the hard work he has had to put in while Lorenzo gets all the benefits. He needs to face the fact that he is getting older and Lorenzo is one hell of a rider.

On another note I will be pushing for Stoner and Ducati for the 2010 title (just look at my gallery to see why), but I would absoutly love it if Jorge or Ben walked all over Rossi.

And we can't for get that Simoncelli, is moving up next year from the 250s and he may not be on the pace right away but look for him to come into his own by mid season.

MotoGP is actually going to be worth watching again, even though I haven't missed a race in 15 years.

WSBK is going to be exciting next year as well. Nitro Niki, Mad Max, The Balogna Bullet, and Rey are all viable competitors. I'm still pulling for Haga just like I have for that last 10 years.

Thanks for the spoiler alert, oh wait you did not give one!!! I follow roadracing all season long and stay off the Motogp and WSBK web sites until after the races air on speed. The last place that I thought would have ruined watching it all unfold would be this site.

Ya, I'm being a whinner,I tivo'd it, I just have not had a chance to see it. I'm stoked he won. I wish Matt Mladin would have had a shot at a world title during his career, but he is calling it quits for the 2010 season, so I guess that will never happen, and he is getting a little long in the tooth

Nikki doesnt have anywhere near the talent and determination that Ben has. I am a Nicky fan but he lucked out winning an AMA superbike championship because Mat Mladin was out the first couple of rounds from elbow surgery. Then somehow stepped in it again and won a motogp championship on luck again. Ben is the real deal, he can ride anybike you put him on. You can see he wants to win when you look in his eyes and he's humble. I can't wait to see him ride the gp bike in Valencia!

I agree completely!

Ben is a reserved man on the interviews and all bussiness on the track.

Moto GP will definitly be awesome next year. Nikki just, Idunno something holds him up! he's had awesome equiptment just something in him ain't there, to run withe these guys.

a shame cos I wanted to see him ride the hell out of the duc. his performance dictates what in the way of gear, a factory will give him.

Ben on the other hand, will be top of the list of yamaha equiptment.

testing will confirm that rossi has another problem, he'll have to deal with in defending that title.

ben,

Kinna reminds me of Eric bostrom. I wanted to see the man do right but, WTF happend Eric?

Aoyama walked Marco once he was able to get buy. With one race left I'm really pulling for that old Honda to take it to the Apes one last time.

Marco plays dirty, and he got spanked at the end by Aoyama and a photo finish loss to Barbera. Great battles nevertheless.

It will be interesting to see Marco next year at MotoGP. Marco needs to use Spies' (hair) barber.

Watching Marco run Aoyomi off the track reminded me of Biaggi doing that to Rossi only to get passed and flipped the bird by Rossi. Next year will definately be interesting.

I've always wondered how he fits all that hair in his helmet.

Watching Marco beat Biaggi on his first ever endeavor on a world superbike really impressed me.

CANT WAIT TO SEE SPIES ON A MOTOGP BIKE THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!! And he knows the track this time unlike when he rode the GSVR a handful of times last season

Team- unbiased opinion,no experts here just trying to help thats all.K.I.S.S principle upheld here

I agree, Troy Bayless dominated WSBK and did pretty good the first season of MotoGP, I think sixth overall and his best finish was 3rd. Not bad for learning a new bike. The second season he rode was not so good,14th overall, true equipment not skill had a lot to do with the poor results. He went back to WSBK and dominated again. Moto GP seems to be a big step up from WSBK.
