My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I've got a new Stratus and i seem to be having alot of flame-outs when i either hold an inverted hover, or do constant flips and rolls. Other than that the motor seems to run great. I've got the standard Stratus tank and no header tank. I am running the fuel magnet inside the tank. Does anyone have any ideas why this is a problem? Should the fuel pickup line be long inside the tank or should it ony extend from the nipple to the other side of the tank?

Any suggestions would be great.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I took the fuel magnet out and am using a normal clunk without issue. It is set up the normal way ie just miss the opposite side of the tank.

The fuel magnet is not very heavy and may be sitting off the fuel. Install a header tank temporarily and see if the main clunk is working properly.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Not sure if your tank is the issue, but the clunk should not hit the other end of the tank when fully extended. I made mine short enough so that the end of the clunk has no interaction with the far side of the tank when it goes inverted, but the side of the clunk does touch the side of the tank as it rolls up and down. I also tested it on the bench by moving it in different orientations, and before I cut the line shorter, it would get stuck. It is a little tough because the shape of the Stratus tank means the clunk kind of has to "roll" freely up and down one side. As I recall, my clunk line is about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch shorter than what the instructions recommended.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I've been debating this same issue. I'm thinking of just putting it behind the tank (mounted to the metal A frame brace). I'm not sure if it would matter but the nipple would be pointed to the side and not towards the carb.

I recently switched to a bubbleless clunk and everything seems to be working great so I almost don't want to mess with a working setup. The header tank would add two oz of fuel

clunk and replaced my fuel magnet i like it much better
and you dont need to worry about the magnet shredding from
sitting to long.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I use super strong 3m double sided tape. 2 strips across the length of the header tank and attached to the side of the main tank. Been doing it for the longest time and works a treat. I make checking it part of the pre-flight and have yet to have a failure.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I used a frame spacer and mounted in just behind the tail servo. (my gallery) (126-68 15mm hex spacer)

Seems like the new foam on the fuel magnet is picking up more air than normal so I went with the header tank as well.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Strange, i change out the strips after about 100 flights or so and their are still on pretty tight. lucky i guess. in any case, i just like the idea of a header, guess its a sign of being in this hobby too long i guess.
