There are 10 channels. 8 are proportional, 2 are on/off.

So are you saying that the 8FG does have 10 controllable channels?

Thanks... Still deciding if to get the 10CG or this 8FG. Knowing this has 10 Channel capability makes it a Little easier.

However It also means I will have to get the ($200) 14 channel receiver since there isn't a 10 channel receiver (as yet?) to take advantage of these extra 2 channels.

by any chance if this is true for the 8FG does that mean that the 10CG has 12 channels? lol, Just wishfull thinking I guess.

Still no where closer to resolving which system to get, as a smart move would be to get the best radio you can afford, However is the 8FG better than the 10CG Or otherwise? The forum consensus seems to be, that the 8FG has better program depth, lower latency, Minimalist ergonomics, smooth gimbals, backlit screen, balanced case, SD card expandable & 1700mah capacity battery.
Not sure about the durability of the Ipod touch interface though!

The 10CG counters with a large screen, 10 full channels, 14 channel reciever, 7 point pitch & throttle curves & stunning looks. However, very expensive system, 700mah battery & older programming. What should I get guys? want to decide by sunday, Thanks

7 point pitch & throttle curves

Unless you are doing something exotic 2 points on the pitch curve is enough.

For my electric 3 points is enough for the throttle curve.

All I can say is what I stated earlier...

I had a new 10CHG and sold it here on RR to get the 8FGH and I haven't miss one thing from the 10CHG except the price.

The 8 and the 10 are almost the same price, the difference in the included receiver (8 or 14 ch and HS or not).

The program for the 8 mimics the 12Z in many functions that the 10 doesn't

That's just what I've realised and Futaba has stated to me as well!

I picked one of the 8fg radios up. Very nice. I'm not sold on the touchwheel programming (my 12z was much easier to navigate since it also had a joystick), but feature wise, it's got everything I used on my 12z except the acceleration function. Nice screen, and I like how things are laid out on one screen for many functions where they are spread out on the 12z.

Vs a 10C (I had one of those too), I like the feel of the 8fg better. Navigation is about the same, as are features.

Yeah the touch wheel IS VERY sensitve...isn't it

I like mine...I trying to hook my gyro to channel five and just use a switch to shift from heading hold and am having a heck of a time with it. Used to use channel 8; but, with my Vario Chopper, it has 4 servo CCPM and uses 8 as the second elevator.

Have you discovered anything to accomplish this??

I have owned a T9C and now the 10CG. By default both of those "expect" channel 5 to be used for gyro gain and switch F is used to switch from HH to rate mode. In the gyro sens menu select gyro type as GY then you just set one side for AVCS and one side for NORM and then the percentage gain required.

This works even if you are not using a Futaba gyro. I am using a CSMSL720 and even though the channel looks reversed the gyro still operates as it should.

Page 118 in the manual.

I can't find it in the manual but I am guessing that if you select the condition and scroll through the values you will hit on a switch selection instead of the flight mode condition.

Okay, I have made up my mind to get the 8FGH radio, also plan to get an extra R6014HS 14 channel reciver so i can have access to 10channels of control.

Flew a heli with the 10C today... wasn't really into that radio, think I'll like the more compact & lighter 8FGH.
