Actually the 8 has assignale gimbrals and shows in the manual how to swap the gimbrals

over to mode one or two or three or even 4...Not sure what 3 and 4 are.

To change this over yourself...take a look at the back and I think you'll see that it isn't that impossible to do...just need small tools to move

You are looking a a simple rachet move to the throttle side and moving the spring assemble and hold to what would now be the elevator mode 2 side.

Looking at these pics (mode2)...throttle is at the right side from the bottom of TX.

Hope this helps!!

Thanks fran, that is very useful. It isn't the same as the 9 and 10. They have a plate that screws in over the top of the gimbal that will be used for throttle.

OK, someone needs to look through their new 8fg and see if it has acceleration for the swash. I've studied the manual, and it has it for planes, but no mention of helis. If you aren't sure what you are looking for and it doesn't say "Acceleration" in the menus, it'll be the only thing that has a dumping parameter.

Are you talking about speed compensation for the swash?

No, in the 12z, it's essentially like auto collective management. I've got it set so I have 10.5 deg of pitch, but if I very quickly dump in full collective, it'll give up to 12 and then back it down to the 10.5. Makes for very quick response without bogging the head. Perfect for someone like myself with crappy collective management.

Think I found what you are looking for?????

Go to the "LINKAGE" menu and scrol down to "swash" touch the "rtn" function...touch S1 and go to page five of the swash menu...there you will find compensation direction for elev and aileron.

Just below that is the speed settings.

Hope this helps!

Like I said in the beginning of this post....

"the only thing Futaba needs to correct/update; is all of the functions that this radio has, aren't showing up in the manual!"

I'm sure it is in there...just need to go through my menus and syhper out the manual...LOL

Eury...just got off of the phone with Futaba and posed the question about

"acceleration/swash"

John told me the the 8FGH actually has 12FGH program; he checked to see what you had explained to me in regards to the 10.5 degrees to 12 degrees and back to the 10.5 degrees.

We neew to know exactly what the 12Z manual calls this function. He pulled this (12Z) up on the screen and couldn't find what you were describing to me. Probably my communication skills with him...LOL.
Never the less; please LMK what the actual function name is (in the manual and page number).

So here's the latest from the mouth of Futaba. The 8FGH has almost all of the programing of the 12FGH and a lot of the 12Z/14Z (and 8FGH program is based on the program of the 12FGH).

Eury LMK what that function is called in the manual and I'll get a deffinte answer for you!

In the 12FG, 12Z, and 14MZ transmitters, the function appears only in Heli models, and is called "Acceleration". You can adjust both pitch and throttle functions, depending upon how you're setting-up your heli.

Page 112 of the 12Z manual, it's called acceleration both in the manual and on the menus in the 12z. I just looked at the 12fg manual and it is also handily on page 112 of that manual with the same name. On page 77 of the 8fg manual it also describes the same feature, but only mentions it for mixture adjustment in airplanes.

Here's the final answer to the acceleration question....

The 8 FGH does NOT have this function...that's from the Futaba Dawg.

So I guess for $400.00 plus saving between the 8FGH and the 12FG, 12Z and 14MZ...A sacrifice has been made...LOL

Glad we've finally cleard this up!
