My Posts This: Topic Forum | Don't want to hijack jzanutto's thread, but after receiving my AH-1W Super Cobra kit yesterday, I couldn't resist letting you all know that it's a beautiful kit, well executed by Dr. Tim Dawson of Dawson Approach Engineering.
He took the conversion of the AH-1F Cobra kit by Dave Blum and turned it into a new offering for us Cobra fans. I'll be building off-line and feeding any suggestions I come up with to Dr. Tim for his consideration for downstream kit revisions. I really don't expect to find many if any problems knowing Dr. Tim's meticulous attention to details.
You have to have this capability to be a retired U.S. Navy carrier pilot like Tim. Just lucky he and I didn't try to occupy the same airspace at the same time back in the late 60's, early 70's in SE Asia. I would like to thank Tim for allowing me to be one of the three people to get pre-release Whiskey Cobra kits. It's a true builder's kit and reminds me of my scale plank days, cut, sand, cover and fly.
