thanks to oragami (craig), here is the fix for the head block "wobble" on the main shaft...
Problem. The Head Block is made out of Very Thick Aluminum, and the tolerances within the block are just a tiny bit off, almost negligible, anyway this makes for a head that cant be tightened due to a spring effect, strength, and thickness of the Aluminum.
Fix. Very Easy. All you have to do it take the head off the helicopter. Put the bolt through the hole, and tighten it to the Nut, as tight as you can get it. This will Pre load the head block and actually Bend it in, key word (Pre-Load). The problem is that the Bolt is not strong enough to do this when on the Main Shaft. Take the Bolt and Nut off, and slide it back onto the Main Shaft, Insert Bolt and Nut, and Tighten it up Tight. No more Wobble.
i noticed that the canopy standoffs seemed a little wide for the canopy itself, so i turned them and re-tapped them .25" shorter each and it made a huge difference and there is still clearance of about .2" between the canopy and front mounted cyclic servos... |
