sensor

what we need this kind of sensor for is the G-20 that has electronic ignition. the magnet that triggers the ignition module is of the wrong polarity for the GV-1.

So without adding the proper polarity magnet to the fan hub I thought an optical sensor using a reflective tape etc. would be the best situation.
I tried to email a person that was offering optical sensors but the email came back.

I've been wondering if another Zenoah sensor could be used for the GV-1. Looking at all the photos, I see you can mount the EI sensor in a couple of locations on the engine case.

So, would it be possible to have 2 sensors mounted? One for the EI and the other for the GV-1? Just taking a wild stab in the dark here.

Just another crappy day in Paradise....Aloha!

I just used the sensor that comes with the GV-1. Are you saying it doesn't work? Mine works fine just by pointing it at the lower crank case.

Greenboot

The issue is the electronic ignitions magnet in the fan is the wrong polarity for the GV sensor,
your right if it had the magneto it would work fine.

Why can't you drill a hole 180deges from the stock magnet in the hub and turn the other mag over and glue it in?

In the past, I've gotten a GV-1 Optical Sensor from Hotwings. He makes really nice ones.

I use one of his sensors on my RevMax and it is nice.

3 years is enough time wasted. Taking a break for a while.

Heres a link that gives a tutorial about optical sensors. Problem with optical sensors is sheilding them from sunlight when doing hard 3-d.
