Just finished my Pantera build and am beginning to set up the curves.

I'm pretty much tapped out now, so a governor will have to wait a while. (I hear that you're supposed to establish throttle curves prior to governor installation anyway)

Can anyone post some typical throttle curves? I don't have a tach, and I don't want to risk overspeed the rotor. I'm thinking that I'll get used to the heli and break it in on curves, and then install the governor when the additional fundage comes.

My Pantera has a new Hyper w/ a Curtis MP 5 and CF 600 blades.
All else is stock.

I plan to use a linear pitch curve (-10 to 10) BTW.

Thanks in advance.

Matt

If your gov. has a limiter in it turn it on when you are messing with the curves. Multi-Gov has both modes.

A few weeks ago at our little fun fly we had, we had a Rossi screaming the head with 40% at hover. It just a shot in the dark for a set of numbers to have you start with.

I myself set my max. throtle for about 70% in the radio then let the gov. do its job. If you set your high around 70% and your hover around 40% if you throw a mag. I does not over rev. the motor it just runs with a major loss of power but is still flyable to get you back in.

I use 0-40-60-80-100, then fine tune from there. The 60-80-100 is a pretty good start on a typical idle-up. I dont have a problem with over speed with this, but I have more like -8 to+12 on pitch.

Thanks for the info, guys.

Looks like I'll be OK to start w/ a linear throttle curve for normal mode. (0, 25, 50, 75, 100)
I might try to use an old airplane tach mounted to a block of wood beneath the heli. I hear that works OK in the absence of a good Heli Tach.

You can also download manuals from other 50 helis (Raptor 50, Trex 600, Vibe 50...) and check the settings recommended for pitch and matching throttle. They are pretty similar - same blades, engine size, gear ratio : they should also work for the Pantera.

I've attached the throttle settings for the Vibe 50 as an exemple.

You can't setup YOUR heli accurately based on other people's curves. You need a tach!

I found a Multi Gov Pro on the cheap and installed it this weekend.

Super easy set up, and seems to work really well. I would highly recommend it.
