Hi All

I have a couple of questions on the head build of my Vision 50 Comp, I am hoping someone can help me with...

1. The build manual shows two ways of building the grips, 1st method is with thrust bearings on the outside, 2nd method shows thrust bearings between the two radial bearings. Which way is the best?

2. I have found that when I tighten the mixing arms onto the blade grip arms they get notchy as i tighten them. It looks like the collar is a little too short. Anybody else had this problem? Any fixes for it?

Thanks
Russ

Hi Russ.

1. There are 2 different types of thrust bearing systems. One works just as well as the other. All you have to do it look at the supplied washer. If Part (2) is a large washer as it shows in build (A), then put it together like Build (A). Part (2) will depict which build you need to perform.

2. The mixers? Make sure you have the little washer behind the mixer, If you do not, you will be puting pressure on the race of the Bearing, and that will result in a notchy feel. If you think the spacer is short, it may well be but you would be the first person to have reported this. Check out your assembly and let us know.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your speedy response. I have the larger thrust washer so I guess I will be building mine with the thrusst bearings on the outside.

I do have the small washers fitted between the mixer and blade grip arm, but it still seems notchy when I tighten the bolt. It looks as though the spacer is not quite wide enough, or the bearings are not quite seated correctly. I think I will remove the bearings and check that the bearing seat looks OK..

Cheers

I got the same problem with the mixer arms.
One is ok...the other....when i tighten the srew....if feels like it stucks a little bit when spinning the mixer.
It moves but...not 100% free like the other one.
I got the washer between the mixer and the blade grip.

When you first install them, dont over tighten them. This will crush the bearing. Loc Tite them and snug them down, and see if this doesnt make for a nice fit. Please keep me informed.

Thanks

Thanks

Another problem I am having is the nut that holds the headblock to the mainshaft does not fit in the machined hole. The hole for the bolt and the hole for the nut are the same size and shape (round). I would have expected a nut shaped hole the nut was to fit flush in the headblock

Cheers

Yes, we realized this soon after production.

What I did was this. I took a longer bolt, and started to tighten it into the nut with a T-Handle. It pulled the nut into the Aluminum. Then I took the stock Nut and Bolt and installed it, and it was good to go.

Hope this helps
