I have reflex xtr now, but lets face it, the sim is old, the upgrade price is not worth it and they don't have new models. looking for new sim and thought phoenix would be it, but many people are saying its unrealistic. Is phoenix the best right now?

I have XTR, Phoenix, and Realflight 4.5. Of the 3, XTR is the most realistic, followed by Phoenix. Realflight is, by far, the most UNREALISTIC of the flight sims!

I have Reflex and Phoenix and I stopped using the Reflex software.

I think Reflex fly's just as good as Phoenix but Reflex gave up on it customer base and lost its standing with the people.

Phoenix is now the "Mack Daddy" of Sims.

Don't get Pre-flight sim. It's cheap, but I have many issues with the transmitter link (at least you can use your own transmitter) and the realism is horrible!! I was thinking about going with real flight because of the new combat mode and I fly planes also. I really want to enhance my heli skills and want a realistic heli sim.

Pre-flight the heli just hangs there in the sky as you flip it all over. There is very little gravity drop which is unrealistic. Graphics are outdated as well. It uses 6 year old graphics engine. You can use photoreal backdrops and make your own somehow but still not worth it.

No, Here's a link to what Phoenix has.

I'm still learning to fly.
I use the sim on bad weather days which is alot right now.

Personally,I like the Phoenix sim out of all I've used.
I've used RealFlight 4.5,Clearview and Phoenix.

The training modes are cool.
I've been spending alot of time on the inverted trainer since that is a weak point of mine.
The Phoenix really does feel just like my Trex 500.
Did some tweaking in the set up to get it more reallistic.
Lots of things you can change to get a better feel.

I tryed Phoenix for 1 week and didn't like it at all,soo unrealistic to me..Realflight is flat out awesome. You can go into the settings, change everything to fly just like your real heli and its so realistic.I can auto, flip, roll, tictoc ect.. just like my real heli. You can even set it up to bog and do all the moves slower than your real heli, that really helps alot when you fly the real deal cause you have the power ect..when trying things in real life.Pretty much you can do what you want with it,set it up the way "you" want to fly and it comes with all cables/cords to use your own radio if you don't like the one it comes with. 1 1/2 years of flying Realflight and this is where im at so I have nothing bad at all to say about it .

Bouchah, you can download that heli for realflight too,I just looked

Trex 600N/hyper 50/MP5, Revmax,Spartan DS760/JR DS8900G,3 Align DS610's.

Phoenix does all that too......

I had to tweek on my Phoenix for a couple hours, but I have it really close to the real thing now.
Phoenix 2.5 is even better.
The sound is a bit off but the flying is so close it's wierd.

What is really odd though....

I look at RealFlight and Phoenix both....Outrage helis and Logo helis both fly like crap compared to the old Trex.
The Protos is the worst.

I guess these helis are for the 3D masters. They are way too responsive for learning to fly.

Just my take on it......

mckrackin, thanks for the comment on my flying.
But to be honest Phoenix is no better than Realflight and Realflight is no better than Phoenix, there both awesome sims and there the best 2 out there.Your Phoenix is not a cheapo sim .

Dayum!!!!Like I'm not broke enough

Good flying though.For real.

i use realflight . reflex and phoneix
they all have something different to offer
they dont fly the same .

realflight helis move much faster to me like the real thing

reflex helps me to learn how to stay in the borders as if i were flying on the field

phoneix lets me feel the controls and the heli.

so 2 days on each

fms
clearview
